The Personification of Rome represents the city as a young woman with a helmet, often holding a cornucopia. Reliefs of a wolf and a cherub reference the founding legend of Romulus and Remus in 753 B.C., linking Rome to divine origins. A colossal head from the Borghese Collection is now in the Louvre, Paris.
